I am creating a report for manufaacturing industry. Every day we get lot of order quantity based on the products. The details are maintained in SAP Hana DB.
Example:- We got a order for making 100 chairs. There is a table which gets updated with ProductType, OrderQuantity and the completed quantity remains blank. The completed quanity column gets updated every hour based on the production.
My customer requires the report to show a graph about the complete quantity count based on every hour. The SAP Hana DB is a OLTP system which contains only the live data in it.
So how to make this possible in Power BI report to store the data in hourly manner ?
Hi, @Anonymous
Here are supported features for SAP HANA:
The Power BI connector for SAP HANA uses the SAP ODBC driver to provide the best user experience.
SAP HANA supports both DirectQuery and Import options.
Power BI supports HANA information models, such as Analytic and Calculation Views, and has optimized navigation.
With SAP HANA, you can also use the direct SQL feature to connect to Row and Column Tables.
Power BI includes Optimized Navigation for HANA Models.
Power BI supports SAP HANA Variables and Input parameters.
Power BI supports HDI-container-based Calculation Views.
I'd like to suggest you import data from SAP HANA DB and publish it to Power BI Service. Then you can set the interval for schedual refresh as an hour.
For further information, you may refer to the following document.

@Anonymous , need the information, what kid on the system it is a direct query, import. What are the columns? Is data available hourly need to build in power bi
You can plot date time and see data till the hour level
You may have to look for append data approach

hi @Anonymous, The approach to follow would be to refresh the data in Power BI from SAP HANA every hour - so the data reflects hourly.
But note that the number of refreshes possible also depends on the Power BI license that you are using.
You can look at the Microsoft article for scheduling refresh in Power BI service.
