Data Refresh - suggestion for BI

We use big datasets that are updated regularly.  When we run the data refresh the model goes and reloads all the history.

 

Is there a way for the model to only upload the latest? 

 

The current refresh can take (literally) hours because of the re-import of data the model already has.

 

Thanks for any help/guidance/advice.
