Data Refresh in Power BI Service is too Slow

Hi,

I have a report with size 400 MB, the data refresh in Desktop it took hardly 3 mins.

When i try to refresh from Power BI Service manually, the data  refresh is very slow so far it took 40 mins still running.

Not sure is this expected else can you suggest how to resolve.

Is there any way to stop this Manual Refresh

Regards

Nagaraj

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

Hi @nagaraj ,

In cases where the filter is not supported by the datasource back-end, it cannot be pushed down. In such cases, the mashup engine compensates and applies the filter locally, which may require retrieving the full dataset from the data source.

The first refresh in the Power BI service may take longer to import all the range. Subsequent refreshes may be finished in a fraction of the time.

Hi @nagaraj ,

Is your gateway the latest version? Probably check if your gateway machine run out of disk/memory?Make sure that it has got enough memory, CPU and bandwidth to both the source data and Power BI service.
