Data Model and Charting

Hello,

Below is an excerpt from the two tables I have, the first details the dates that items were packed and the second details dates when containers were shipped. Only certain items go into certain containers:

dateTimeitem
01/01/2017BZ8
01/01/2017CF1
02/01/2017CS5
02/01/2017CT7
02/01/2017EF3
02/01/2017FG5
03/01/2017GB3
04/01/2017GU5
04/01/2017HB5
04/01/2017JG7
05/01/2017KC6
05/01/2017KH7
05/01/2017NI1

and

dateTimecontainer
01/01/2017CI11
01/01/2017CI11
01/01/2017CI11
01/01/2017CI23
01/01/2017CI33
01/01/2017CI11
02/01/2017CI24
03/01/2017CI11
04/01/2017CI23
04/01/2017CI35
04/01/2017CI54
04/01/2017CI14
05/01/2017CI11

This is an excerpt from my lookup which shows which containers items should be put in:

itemcontainer
11BZ8CI11
11CF1CI22
11CS5CI22
11CT7CI55
11EF3CI33
11FG5CI22
11GB3CI24
11GU5CI22
11HB5CI23

I would like to model this in power BI and I would like the facility to select an item from a list generated from the first table... and then I need to show the number of containers that were dispatched with those items inside. I have tried to make some references between the columns but the best I can get is to display the total nuber of containers shipped on the day the item was packed and not the number of containers shipped based on my selection of item. Any help would be appreciated.

@oldmanraskers,

What fields do you use to create relationship among the above three tables? And could you please post the expected result based on the above sample data in table format?

Regards,

Soo...the first thing I notice is that your "item"s from your first table, BZ8, CF1, etc. do not match your "item"s from your lookup table, 11BZ8, 11CF1, etc. Is that intentional or...? Makes it hard to form a relationship without matches.
