Hi PBI Users,
I saw this video on building dynamic slicers but now I can't find it and so I am unable to post a link on this Community Forums. I have been able to download a sample pbix file so maybe someone will recognise it.
I am focusing on build dynamic slicers at this point in time and I wanted to understand how in this video created, the youtuber creater the 'Desc' column. The 'Desc' column is some kind of referene to the 'Period' column. For example, 'W1 2019' would be selected as 'W' in the slicer. '2021' would be 'Y' and 'Jan 2019' would be 'M'.
Does anyone know the DAX I could use to use to build the 'Desc' column?
Thank you in advance.
Is anyone able to help me with my original question? Still stuck on it 😞
Thank you,
Hi Amine,
The 'Index Dexc' is the order of how 'Desc' appears on the slicer, on Power BI.
'2019' = 1,
'Q2 2021' = 2,
'May 2019' = 3
'W32 2021' = 4
OH ok I see, the images you uploaded are from the Youtuber and you want to create something similar with your model is it not? if so, send us a sample of your model or are you looking for a tutorial..!
