My report has a DAX Date table. It is working successfully to create a relationship between it and a one of my queries.
However, when I try to create a relationship between the DAX date table and a different query it gives circular dependency message.
This second query has nothing to do with the date table or any other data source in my report data model.
What troubleshooting steps should I take to be able to figure out how to create a relationship to the date table to my second query?
EDITED TO ADD:
I was trying to create the relationship by dragging the date field from the DAX date table to the second query table date field. This gave the circular dependency message.
However, I just tried dragging in opposite direction eg from the query table to the DAX date table.
Then it created a 1 to 1 relationship with both directions. I was then able to change the relationship to 1 to many and one way.
Power BI didn't complain and the relationship works as expected in reports.
Maybe PowerBI made some auto relationships, can you post a picture of the relationship view in Power BI?
No auto defined relationships. Its a very simple model. Just what I have specified. Definitely not any relationships that include this second query.

Hey thanks. That video describes issues that arise when a DAX table that is created from query table and the query table relationship is attempted.
In my issue the query table is completely unrelated to the DAX date table. It is also completely unrelated to the first query table that successfully allows a relationship between itself and the DAX date table.
Honestly I can't tell what/where exactly is the issue if I don't see the model. I am sure the video covered most of the issues related to Circular Dependencies that's why I might think the problem is coming from your date table. How did you created? Using Calendarauto()? this function takes the existing column dates in your model.
Share a sample of your model and let me take a look into it.
