Customize current theme - how to change slicer search box color

Hi,

Have been making adjustments to the theme via customize current theme, and like the ability to adjust to a look that i like. One issue - the slicer search box is now in white and the font is also white, so search word cannot be seen when typed in. How do i change the color of the search field or search field font? Saw other threads on this (e.g. link), and tried exporting the json, adjusting it based on info in the thread and then reuploading, but the color remains white for both search field and search font. Is there a specific area in the customize current theme that i can adjust to affect this? Thanks in advance.
