I'm trying to connect to an Oracle database that contains spatial information.
I can connect just fine, and do anything I like as long as I stay far away from any tables or views that include the spatial information. When I do, I get the following error:
Custom type mapping for 'dataSource='PORTAL' schemaName='MDSYS' typeName='SDO_GEOMETRY'' is not specified or is invalid
The error occurs when I select the table in the datasource and PowerBI attempts to find all the columns. I am disconnected from the database afterwards.
I'm running another BI app on the same connection info and it can read all tables just fine. What is causing this problem and how can I get it to go away?
Is this something I need to get the DBA involved with (and if so, what do I tell them or will the error message be enough?) or is it something I can fix in my local settings?
