Custom tooltip not working consistently after changing report slicer

I have created a horizontal bar chart as a custom tooltip, to appear whenever the user hovers over a bar in a separate vertical bar chart.

When I pick an item from a slicer to filter the report page(i.e. slicing the report by an employee) this carries through to the custom tooltip, however when I clear the slicer selection and then select a different item from the slicer the custom tooltip continues to display the filter context from the first time.

This appears to be a bug in both the Desktop and Power BI service - is this still an issue in the most current Power BI release or will this be fixed in the future?

The latest version of Power BI Desktop seems to work fine.
