When I change the location of my data source, it changes the custom colors I have set for my treemap back to the default colors. The data set is exactly the same. I am just changing the source location inside of Desktop to point to the new location. Is there a setting to indicate not to use default colors? I am using the free Desktop version of Power BI.

Unfortunately the colour management is still very immature. If you change almost anything, they will revert to default. There is no way to fix it. You could search ideas.powerbi, com and vote to have it changed.
Thanks for the reply. I will certainly vote to have it changed.

Every time I change a visualization...publish...sometimes the colors go to default...and sometimes that ends up with a chart with the same color bars!! A bit frustrating.
I vote for this to be looked into...
