Custom Total Column in Power Bi Matrix

Hi.

Is there a way to show only one column with a measure (average, sum, percentage, etc.) at the end of matrix in Power BI? I want to show one column with a measure like the difference between 2019 and 2020 in sales.

Thanks.

Hi @marcoarib ,

There is an idea about this functionality that you could vote up to get fixed quickly.

Matrix/Table grand totals with Measures

Not entirely sure, but you may want something like: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Quick-Measures-Gallery/The-New-Hotness-Custom-Matrix-Hierarchy/m-p/...

DAX is easy, CALCULATE makes DAX hard...

@Greg_Deckler thank you for your response.

I've created a new column for the revenue performance:

...and a hierarchy based on Year, Month and Revenue Performance:

BI 3.PNG

When I try to create the measure, I can't reach this "YEAR Hierarchy" to put it in a VAR:

I'm doing these things right?

Thanks.

@marcoarib I don't use an actual DAX hierarchy in my solution, it is an ad-hoc hierarchy but even so, the same technique should work, you would refer to the individual levels of the hierarchy, not the hierarchy itself.

@marcoarib check subtotal per column option in format pane. In fact you have to control it in measure to return blank() if it is a total

I would  Kudos if my solution helped. 👉 If you can spend time posting the question, you can also make efforts to give Kudos whoever helped to solve your problem. It is a token of appreciation!

Feel free to email me with any of your BI needs.

The subtotal option shows the Total column that I mentioned. I need to put a measure at the end of matrix.
Thank you.

OK, now fairly certain you want The New Hotness, see previous reply @marcoarib
