We have a program that helps us with Project Management and we use Power BI to report on this information. Within the report, it would be nice to link back to specific pages of this application by using a url. Right now, Power BI only allows hyperlinks that start with http, https, file, and a few others. Is there any way around this? This is something I voted for years ago but hasn't gained any traction. I wanted to see if someone has come up with a work around in the meantime.
Hi @jfenico ,
For information on hyperlinks in Power BI tables and matrixes, see Add hyperlinks to a table.
For information on adding text boxes to your dashboard, see Add images, videos, and more to your dashboard.
For information on adding a hyperlink to a text box in your report, see Add a hyperlink to a text box in a report.
Could you please clarify what would the custom Hyperlink that opens up program look like? I am not sure what desired result would you want now.
Best Regards,
Amy

Hi @v-xicai
The hyperlink in this situation would look like this
application_name:project=92935c6b-894b-42b0-9561-811da62d278f
The application would then open up the corresponding record which is found using the ID (92935...)
However this is not using http as you can see but if we were to copy and paste this on our machine that has the application installed it would open up properly.
Hi @jfenico ,
Your demand is a good idea, while it is not supported to implement in Power BI currently. You can post your new idea here https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas , to improve the Power BI.
It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
Best Regards,
Amy
