Custom Font Not Recognised

Hi All,

With the .json file below I am trying to use Montserrat as the font for my custom theme:

{
"name": "Waveform",
"textClasses": {
"callout": {
"fontSize": 45,
"fontFamily": "Montserrat",
"color": "#252423"
},
"title": {
"fontSize": 12,
"fontFamily": "Montserrat",
"color": "#252423"
},
"header": {
"fontSize": 12,
"fontFamily": "Montserrat",
"color": "#252423"
},
"label": {
"fontSize": 30,
"fontFamily": "Montserrat",
"color": "#FF0000"
}
},
"dataColors": ["#31B6FD", "#4584D3", "#5BD078", "#A5D028", "#F5C040", "#05E0DB", "#3153FD", "#4C45D3", "#5BD0B0", "#54D028", "#D0F540", "#057BE0"],
"background":"#FFFFFF",
"foreground": "#4584D3",
"tableAccent": "#31B6FD"
}

However, when using this custom theme, my fontFamily and color settings get completely ignored.

I have installed Montserrat on my console: it works in Word.

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

How did you resolved this issue? I'm facing the same for using Open Sans

Hi @parry2k,

In this video. the added font Lato is recognised within Power BI Desktop as an applicable font. My problem is that my font, Montserrat, is not recognised as such when I follow the exact same steps as the guy in the video...

Could you show me how to explicitly use Montserrat in my Power BI Desktop visuals?

Thanks in advance

HI @gijskruikemeier,

Have you installed the same font on your device first? AFAIK, these font settings allow using the font that has already been installed.
You can't directly specific it to use a custom font that doesn't install or these visuals will ignore these settings and return the default fonts.
