Curly braces on unique identifiers

I am getting data from SQL server 2014 import mode. When I do a query select from a table function, unique identifiers do not have curly braces. But when I select/invoke the function from the list, curly braces are there. Is there some explanation for this?

@lizrowden

In Power Query, you always need to use Curly braces on a List Object. For table object, you just need to give a table name. For more details, please refer to Power Query document.

Regards,

I really appreciate your help, but I was unable to understand the answer from the link. I attached some screen shots to further explain

#1 - use select statement#1 - use select statement#1 - no curly braces#1 - no curly braces#2 - select from list#2 - select from list#2 - data has curly braces#2 - data has curly braces
