Hi All,
I have a customer who wants to replace blanks in column cells with data from another cell where they share the same key value inside of another cell. I am assuming Power BI through creating a new custom column can do this?
I think the experts might find this interesting.
Thanks!

Yes it can, would need sample data to be specific but general form is:
Column = IF(ISBLANK([Other Column]),[Some Other Column],[Other Column])

Ok.
If company name is blank but if there is another record with a common key say groupid then get the record's company name and fill in the blank with the company name from that.
Company Name groupid
microsoft 10
microsoft 10
blank 10
then fill in the blank using the groupid
microsoft 10
microsoft 10
microsoft 10
Ok. I wonder if an AI could do this filling in the blanks? I appreciate the answer will try in out but I do wonder about the AI.
Thanks!
You could try it in Power Query by creating a column from examples, it might figure it out but it tends to be hit or miss.
I agree. Since most AI's use probability to provide insights it sometimes is no better than flipping a coin. I have worked with AI so I know that to be true.
Thanks!
