Cross filter direction

Hello,

Please can someone tell me why the default "Cross filter direction" is not set to "Both". I'm currently having to change mine from "Single" to "Both" but I think I don't understand why "Single" would normally be more useful for most people.

Also note the Apply security filter in both directions checkbox in Row-level security with Power BI.
