Create visual to show refresh time with Direct Query rather than Import.

Hi, I have used this solution linked below to have the last refresh time on a report, as a card visual.

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/How-to-include-the-Latest-Refresh-date-and-time-in-a-report...

However, I have recently switched to Direct Query and this no longer updates. Does anyone have any ideas how to show the last time refreshed for this? The data we use gets updated every 15 minutes, meaning the direct query isn't real time (But we can't use Import as it would take too long to refresh every 15 mins). Is there a way to get the time new data was added perhaps?

Thank you in advance 🙂

Hi @GeorgeG ,

Try to click on "Refresh" button to check whether it updates.

Best Regards,
Kelly

Hi @v-kelly-msft ,

When I click the refresh button within PowerBI Desktop, it does update. When this report used the "Import" data method, the last refreshed card visual (see image) updated automatically every scheduled refresh on the PowerBI workspace. Since swapping to Direct Import, it no longer updates. As it's live data with Direct Query and doesn't need refreshing, is there a way to display the time data was last added?

Hi  @GeorgeG ,

Pls try to take the following steps:

1.check the data source credentials in Service:

2.Run refresh, check the refresh history to see why it is failed.
