Create and display a PowerBI report on SharePoint based on user

Hello,

I am trying to setup a report on PowerBI that only shows data based on the user who's logged into SharePoint. The report will be displayed on my SharePoint page so that when the user logs into SharePoint, they can only see the data within the report that's related to them.

For example, I am trying to create a report displaying the attendance of the user so that when they access SharePoint and view the report they can see their own attendance and nobody elses.

Many Thanks.

Hi @SolPembs

If you'd like to embed the report into sharepoint with RLS applied, The Embed option doesn't automatically permit users to view the report. View permissions are set in the Power BI service. In the Power BI service, you can share embedded reports with users requiring access. If you're using an Office 365 Group, you can list the user as a workspace member. For more information, see how to manage your workspace in Power BI and Office 365. Implementing RLS is also needed:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-rls

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-admin-rls

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/developer/embedded-row-level-security

@SolPembs you need to deploy Row Level Security (RLS) in your report and that will get your what you are looking for. There are many blog posts on this topic that can guide you how to implement it.
