Create a slicer from a data column separated by delimiter

Hello All,

I need help in creating a slicer from a column where the data is separated by delimiter.

1. Below is the master data table:

TypeCategory
ACategory1; Category2
BCategory2; Category3
CCategory1
DCategory1; Category3
ECategory1; Category2; Category3
FCategory2
GCategory3

2. I want a create a slicer based on "Category" which is the second column.

Slicer
Category1
Category2
Category3

Based on the selection from the slicer, the data from first column "Type" will be filtered in another table.

3. Scenarios:

Scenario 1: Category1 is selected

Slicer
Category1 - Selected
Category2
Category3

Below will be the output in a separate table:

Type
A
C
D
E

Similar when catergory 2 or 3 is selected.

Scenario 2: Category1 & Category2 is selected. This is an example just to show different mix & match scenarios.

Slicer
Category1 - Selected
Category2 - Selected
Category3

Output Table:

Type
A
B
C
D
E
F

Scenario 3: All 3 selected

Slicer
Category1 - Selected
Category2 - Selected
Category3 - Selected

Output Table:

Type
A
B
C
D
E
F
G

I will really appreciate if you guys can help me tackle this issue.

Thanks in advance!

@rb161604888 I think you are going to want a separate, disconnected table with your categories and use that as your slicer. Then you could use a Complex Selector. The Complex Selector - Microsoft Power BI Community
