Create a dynamic table based off a seperate table which I have already grouped

Hi there,

Fairly new to this and only recently completed the Kubicle training on Power Bi - so apologies for the long explanation, hope someone can help and I am clear enough.

I am trying to create a dynamic table visualisation where the results will come in from a seperate table which I have already applied transformation rules and filters to. The plan is for this table to be used by different people at different periods, from a similar report - hence the need to have the info filter into a new table.

I have grouped items from a specific column in the original report as I want them to feed in together in the new table with totals, I have also specifically signified in the groupings wether they belong to a specific location or not

e.g.

DescriptionTotalMy Grouping (by description)
Task A100Category Z UK
Task B5Category Y UK
Task C55Category X UK
Task AB123Category Z US
Task BA15Category Y US
Task 12Category Z UK
Task 25Category Y US

I may now be overcomplicating things but I want to try and split Group Z off by US and UK as per grouping, but have the totals line up with the relavant category like below

New DescriptionUKUSTotal
Category Z102123Sum of UK and US
Category Y520Sum of UK and US
Category X550Sum of UK and US
TotalsSum of UKSum of US

Is this possible or am I being too ambitious?

Initially thought this would be a simple enough task using tables and cards, but now think I need more expertise.

All suggestions appreciated. 🙂

Many thanks

@Anonymous not surely if I followed completely but if you use matrix visual, add grouping on rows, column that contain us and uk on columns and Total on values you will get the result.

@Anonymous - Split out the end of your description so that you end up with two columns, one that has US and UK in it and the other that has your Category in it. Then you can create a matrix visualization where your US/UK column is your columns and your other Category column is the rows.
