I've been trying to create a calculated table for a few hours now and I can't figure out how to do it. All I'm trying to do is create a table that shows YTD revenue for the 2017 and 2018 fiscal years. This is something that would be very simple to do in Excel, but I'm wanting to understand Power BI and DAX better.
I have a table in which I summed revenue by fiscal month (screenshot below). Now I just need to have a cumulative sum to show YTD revenue.
I have separate tables for FY17 and FY18 that I combined into a table called YoY. The relevant columns are: Close Date (MM/DD/YYYY that sale was closed), Sale Amount ($) (the revenue amount for each sale), Fiscal Month # (so that the months will be ordered from July to June), and Fiscal Year.
How would I write the DAX expression that would create a calculated table showing YTD revenue for both fiscal years?

You may try using TOTALYTD Function.

I did try that, but the formula didn't work properly for me (probably because I didn't write the DAX code correctly). It just had the same amount for each month.
How would I write the DAX formula with TOTALYTD?
