Create 1 graph using data from 2 tables

Hello,

I'm quite new in Power BI so I might ask some simple questions, however, i cant find the right answer to it.

I have 2 data sets:

Data set 1: sales figures of sales person A

Data set 2: sales figures of all the sales persons

I want to create an area chart where it is easy to see the sales person's share over time.

Both datasets have multiple but non-even sales in the same months.

Both datasets have a colum that indicates the month and a column that indicates the year.

I can create an area graph for Sales person A, and a separate one for the Overall sales.

However, if I want to bring the Overall sales into the graph of Sales person A, I just get a flat line.

I already tried to build a relationship with a 3rd table but that does not work (it might be I created a wrong table to)

Can anyone help me out?

thank you in advance!

Annika

If you can share the sample dataset and your expected result screen shot that would be good, becuase as per your suggestion you are in right direction it's just a metter of correting the relationship.
