Hi,
I am working in PowerBI and notice that if a county is located in multiple states then it shows up in both locations or in a wrong state than it should. How can I get PowerBi to know the state of which a county is supposed to be located?

Hey @nmck86,
I had a similiar problem with city names. When I would plot all USA cities, some would show up in the UK and France. I solved it by adding the zip code instead of the city name. It seems that ArcGIS doesn't have a feature to select the specific location you want. It does let you select one or many countries, but I still had city names showing up in other countries with the single country selected.
Short answer is you probably need to add more detailed data or switch your location type to Boundaries, not Points, and select the Location Type Counties.
Hope this helps,
Alan
I would think adding a State column would be faster than adding a zipcode column. I've never used visuals by County - so I don't know what embedded recognition is there overall.

As Alan said, zip code is usually the quickest solution, if you can add it to your data table.
