Counting by cell content

Hi there,

I have a spreadsheet, comes from SAP. One of these columns has more information, abbreviation.

SAPSAP

I have to count each system status and should be shown like below.

ResultResult

I have tried everything on this topic, but it was not successful. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any related thread here.

I sure you can help me.

Thanks for your effort in advance.

 Marcell

@Anonymous , On of the ways is split system status column into rows(Split by delimiters)

https://www.tutorialgateway.org/how-to-split-columns-in-power-bi/

Then you can create a new grouped Table - https://www.poweredsolutions.co/2019/07/30/grouping-rows-with-power-bi-power-query/

or you can count in visual

Hi @amitchandak,

Unfortunately, I cannot express myself well. I thought it would be misleading.

I have to create a visual (and not a table for sure) because I have to add some slicer later.

Sorry.

 Marcell

Hi @Anonymous ,

You cant directly create the visual per your request without transforming your table. In dax,you need to create multiple columns to get each category from each row, then make a calculation to count the total number.Choose power query, you could easily split the column into mulituple columns then get the visual you need.(As suggested by @amitchandak )

Such transformation wouldnt affect the use of slicers.

Hope this could make sense.

Best Regards,
Kelly
