Convert number to date Power Query

Hi Experts

 

How would you use Power Query to Convert a date number i.e. 2020517 into 17/05/2020 uk format using Power Query,. i do not want to use calculate column as a i have thousand or rows..

I am not sure I understood your question correctly, but please kindly check the below link.

 

I am using US format date, but you will easily understand what I was doing.

hey, 

if the change type to date format isnt making it right for that format them without adding a new column you wont be able to differente approach:

1) create a new column that separetes the date by characters position from left to right and merged them back in all in a new column them delete the original one in a new step

2) create a dimensional table for dates and create a key column with that same format date key and make a relantionship with thtat table to manage the date via the dimensional table.
