Hi everyone,
I am looking for an option to allow my Power BI developers to connect to our Azure SQL Database, but due to our security policy I can not create a firewall rule in this case.
So I was thinking about use data gateway as an option. However, all material I found does not say that data gateway works like that. Just from on-premises to services.
Does anyone can provide me some ideas?
Thank you in advance.
Hi @Anonymous ,
There are several points should be checked when connect to Azure SQL Server Database, which must be complied with.
1.The latest version of Power BI Desktop 2.68.5432.661.
2.SSMS installed on the same machine that has Power BI Desktop installed.
3.Setting "allow access to Azure Services ".
4.A firewall rule is setup to allow Power BI Desktop to make a connection to Azure SQL.
Best Regards,
Amy

Hello @v-xicai,
Thank you for your reply. My obstacle here is the last point, at this particular point we can't set up a firewall rule; thus I am looking for a workaround.
Thank you
