Connection to MariaDB container not possible due to ODBC 3.1 Driver

Hello,

for a private project I wanted to connect Power Bi to a maria db running in a container. When I try to connect, I get the following message:

"Die "Driver"-Eigenschaft mit dem Wert "{MariaDB ODBC 3.1 Driver}" stimmt nicht mit einem installierten ODBC-Treiber überein."

in English: "The Driver Proteries with the Value "{MariaDB ODBC 3.1 Driver}" doesn't match the installed ODBC driver."

I didn't find a info to that message. Shall I update my Windows ODBC driver to 3.1 or do I have to change the driver in Power BI or is there anything else I have to do?

Thanks and best regards,

Dirk

You probably want to stick with the ODBC connector.  For Windows 64 bit the latest official version is 3.1.17

Download MariaDB Connectors for data access & streaming | MariaDB

I was facing the same issue, I downloaded the driver and it just worked smoothly. Thanks for the post.

Can you confirm that you have installed 3.1.17 ?

Thanks for your response. I didn't do that actively on my Windows System. I just downloaded this one: https://mariadb.com/downloads/connectors/. Is this the correct one and version 3.1.18 ok or shall I directly use the latest 3.3.2?

Thanks a lot! Your odbc driver made it.
