Hi @liamcol ,

We can find that when we share a file with others via teams, it will be stored in OneDrive by default. So if you want to connect to an excel file that is saved under shared file in teams, it is equivalent to connect to an excel file saved in OneDrive.

Then refer to the document @amitchandak mentioned and you can get what you want.

1. Open the excel file in Desktop App.

2. Copy path.

3. Connect to the file via Web connector in Power BI Desktop and delete "?web=1".

4. Authentication.

5. Click "Connect" and you will get what you want.
