Connecting to Sage 50 Cloud Accounts

Hi there,

Very quick question as I can't find much documentation online. Has anyone attemted to sucessfully connect to Sage 50 Cloud Accounts before and if so which steps did you take?

@Kasia29 ouch. That's bad, usually, there are APIs available to read the data and then use that API in Power BI. I guess your best bet is to export some reports from the system and then use that exported file in Power BI. and if they allow schedule export, it might work, run schedule export, store in a cloud location like one drive, etc and then use these files for Power BI. 🤷‍

@parry2k nothing of such sort. I'm just off with their support - there pretty much isn't a way to connect to Sage 50 Cloud Accounts. There's no database as such where data can reside...all data gets logged in .dta files which only the system can read 👎

@parry2k Got it to work. 

Steps:

1. Install ODBC driver compatible with version of Sage 50 you're on - Install the 64-bit ODBC driver (sage.com) 
2. Configure ODBC driver on your machine 

3. Connect to data via it

Their support was a bit crap so some googling helped.

I am not a developer but I am trying to understand what else i need to do so that I can connect Sage to Power BI.
