Connecting to SAP HANA

Using the SAP HANA connector in Direct Query is problematic.

When you are in import you can extract the attribute views through a formula and add the column.
It's not ideal because if you have to get the key columns of hundreds of value columns, you have to rewrite the whole thing hundreds of times.

Power BI sees the SAP tables as if they were multidimensional:

First dimension: value column.

Second dimension: key column

This is a problem because it means that you can only get data from one source.

Is there a way to read the tables as "normal" tables?

Hi Pigna,

You may treat SAP HANA as a relational source and use some sql query when connecting to sap hana. Please check if the performance will be approved in that way. Refer to: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-directquery-sap-hana.
