Dear All,
I have a work in progress going on my side in order to allow our data science analysts to have access to real-time data. They will build the dashboard on their computers and then publish them to a centralized server, which will also have access to real-time data.
Here's our architecture:
- Postgres DB hosted on AWS-RDS. This database is behind firewalls (aws security groups). The external access is controlled by AWS-Bastion;
- My team installed a VPN into the AWS-Bastion in order to allow users endpoints to have a tunelled and secure access to our Postgres DBs;
Here's our need and how should I proceed deploying them (if they are plausible)? Follow:
- Our data-science analysts need their power bi client connected to our Postgres-DB instances hosted in AWS-RDS
- We need power bi installed on a dedicated server in order to have dashboards published and updated automatically with data pulled straight from our online database. I heard power bi server would fit these needs, however I understand it requires SQL Server DB, instead of Postgres DB.
Would you please give me a hand on these matters?
Thanks and Best Regads,
John Kraemer
