Connect to multiple Power BI Dataset

Case:
We have different reports from different department. They have separate .pbix file.
So our task us is to combine all the reports into one pbix file. Once report is created then we we'll embed it to SharePoint site.
Question:
Is there easy way to do this without replicating all the data model/visualization in to another pbix file?
I'm thinking if it's possible to embed a power bi report within power bi report?

Currently it's not possible to connect to multiple power bi dataset. Do you have any suggestion?

As per your case, all pbix are already there with full development done. So better to use their embed or published link into your master pbix file.

That's not the case.
We wanted only to get a portion of visualizations to reflect in our reports.
We wanted to connect to the same datasource like xmla endpoint.

Hi @Anonymous

Did you try Dataflow yet. This is a promising solution to your ask. below is the link.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/transform-model/service-dataflows-overview

Also, There is another easy way to do it if you have all the reports in same Workspace.

Create a Dashboard and pin the required chart/graph to the Dashboard. This is possible through PBI services.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/service-dashboard-pin-tile-from-report

Hope this puts you at ease.

How about connecting using xmla endpoint via import mode?
But my question is do i need to recreate the model in order to recreate the visualization?

@Anonymous connecting to multiple power bi dataset so-called live connection is coming in Nov 2020, see here in wave 2. I don't see there is any solution until then.

I would  Kudos if my solution helped. 👉 If you can spend time posting the question, you can also make efforts to give Kudos whoever helped to solve your problem. It is a token of appreciation!
