I am trying to get data from Oracle 12 database.
I have Power BI desktop Version: 2.90.782.0 64-bit (February 2021).
I have installed 64-bit ODAC 12.2c Release 1 (12.2.0.1.1) for Windows x64 [Released August 3, 2018] from https://www.oracle.com/database/technologies/odac-downloads.html
From the Home tab, selected Get Data.. Gave my server details in the format ServerName:port/SID. Data Connectivity mode selected as 'Import'. But when I click OK, getting the below error-
Details: "An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object.'"
Then I refer the Forum and found from this thread that that below steps coud solv the issue and I folowed the same-https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/PowerBI-desktop-64Bit-oracle-connection-error-Object-refere...
Copied oraons.dll from 12.X.X\client_X into 12.X.X\client_X\bin. The X represents version and directory numbers.
After that I have started getting below error-
Oracle: ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified"
Please help.Thanks in Advance.
Hi @Anonymous
How about trying the other solution in the post you mentioned? Uninstall the Power BI Desktop on your computer and download the latest version of Power BI Desktop from Microsoft Download Center instead.
