Connect to MYSQL data source from Power BI Desktop

I have configured an MYSQL database on the cloud. I want to know that, to get data from it, is DirectQuery the only option or I can do Import Data as well?

Could you please clarify which online data source are you trying to connect to? For example, if the msql database is built on on AWS, I'm afraid power bi doesn't have such kind of connector currently, you can vote for this idea(AWS RDS SQL Server) or create a seperate idea:
