Connect to Active Directory which doesnt have TRUST with your my parent domain

Hi...

My company has 5 domains. I successfully connected to 3 domains. Remaining 2 domains are independent domains and doesnt have TRUST with the parent domain / the first three domains.

To connect to this independent domain I have got separate ID and Password. Now the AD team is asking which port needs to be opened in FIrewall to connect to these 2 domains from Power BI Desktop.

Opening 389 (LDAP) TCP port is sufficient? Please let me know.

Also if the domain is not having trust releationship with my domain where I am having PBI Desktop, then is it possible to connect power bi with these independant domain. Please confirm.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Some proxies restrict traffic to only ports 80 and 443. By default, communication to Azure Service Bus occurs on ports other than 443.

It's possible to connect the power bi service with other domains but within the same tenant.

Best regards,

Dina Ye
