I tried to connect Power BI destop to team services by following MS article: https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/docs/report/analytics/access-analytics-power-bi
but i get error
"Unable to Connect
Details: "Microsoft.Mashup.Engine1.Library.Resources.HttpResource: Request failed:
OData Version: 3 and 4, Error: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. (Not Found)
OData Version: 4, Error: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. (Not Found)"
The correct OData URL and credential were provided in the connections.
I noticed that in the article it is mentioned "Feature availability: The Analytics service is in preview and only available to select customers of Visual Studio Team Services at this time."
Is by default the normal customer not get the feature?
I have no issue to use PowerBI web to connection to our Team Services.
Hi Henry,
The below are things that I could think out:
1. Authentication issue.
Check the page below:
Client Authentication Options. Please follow the steps mentioned to generate your Token, or credentials:
If you are using an AAC, enter your username and password ;
If you are using a PAT, enter a text string, such as "test" or "user" for the username and enter the token in the password field. I tested with PAT method, and it works at my side. Be careful to copy the token, make sure there is no Space value copied.
The error you posted would pop out if I leave user name and Password field blank when connecting.
2. URL issue.
https://[account].analytics.visualstudio.com/DefaultCollection/_odata
Please check it again and only replace the [account] with the registered strings. For example, if you registered as Henry.visualstudio.com, only replace [account] with Henry here.
Regards
