I am being presented with a scenario in which I need to provision access for an organization that allows/restricts data based on a users role and department. My report was built by Live Connection into SSAS database (tabular).
Current scenario:
C-level Mgmt - needs to see all data
Manager - only needs to see their departmental data
Reps - only see their data.
What's the best way to handle this?

Hey,
as you are using a live connection to a SSAS Tabular data model, you have to implement roles that provide the proper access to your Tabular model inside the server based model.
Maybe this gets you started:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/analysis-services/tabular-models/roles-ssas-tabular?view=sql-se...
You can SQL Server Data Tools or SQL Server Management Studio to create the roles.
Depending on your requirements regarding versioning and all the stuff I recommend to use SQL Server Data Tools.
Regards,
Tom
