I want to select certain options based on report filters. If the column doesn't have any value, is there any way to not display it
@Anantha can you provide some more information ? If you are using column chart for example, and have dropped field into Axis, if that column doesn't have any value x-axis isn't going to show anything.
Let's say I have 2 report fileter one for country (India, US, China) and one for Cities(Delhi, Mumbai, nyc, Shangai)
and my data in excel is structured as follows
Country City Comments country Comments city
India overall econmoy doing good
India Delhi Delhi is the capital
US overall US is the world's richest economy
US nyc major business hub
Now, if I select India in my country filter and don't select any city, I want only the comments from the column 'Comments country' i.e (economy doing good ) to be displayed
If I choose India and delhi, I want the comments from column 'Comments CIty' (Delhi is the capital) to be displayed
However, I don't want the "economy doing good" to be shown
Is there any way to do this?
I would build a calculated column to filter on that conbines the columns and use that as the filter such as;
Location = CONCATENATE([Country]," " && [City])
Then add that as the slicer.
Although I would have thought that when you select Delhi it would only bring back that row anyway.
According to your description, you need to display columns based on the filter value you selected, right?
Based on my research, it's not supported to display or hide a column base don conditions. So I am afraid your issue cannot be acehieved currently.
