Hi been trying to compute sales comparison based on days of the week..
example: 1st Sunday of 2017 = January 1, 2017
1st Sunday of 2016 = January 3, 2016
2016 has 53 weeks while 2017 has 52 weeks. i need a formula that will consider this as well.
I was able to get same date even months but really having a hard time with weekly comparison. my data is built this way
in one table i have the following:
date | company name | sales | transaction count |
calendar table:
date | day of calendar | day of month | day of week | day of year | month of calendar | month of quarter | month of year | quarter of calendar | quarter of year | week of calendar | week of month | weekday of month | weeknum | year of calendar |
what i need to create is
sales current (1st Sunday 2017) | sales last year (1st Sunday of 2016) | % variance |
hope you can help me out.
Hi @geejaysantiago,
It would be better that you can elaborate your requirement with examples using some sample data.
Do you want to compare the sales value between 1st Sunday in 2017 and 1st Sunday in 2016, then, 1st Monday in 2017 and 1st Monday in 2016......2nd Suanday in 2017 and 2dn Sunday in 2016, ect. Or do you want to compare the sales value by weekly, like 1st week in 2017 and 1st week in 2016, then, 2nd week in 2017 and 2nd week in 2016, etc?
Regards,
Yuliana Gu
