Compare fields side by side from same dataset with grouping and filter Slicer

I have a dataset which has historical data from year to year. I want to compare what changed in year to year using slicer by taking data from the same dataset. I can even duplicate the data source if required.

The data coming from SQL looks like this

I want to build a PBI matrix report by comparing data from 2 Years data. There are 2 dropdowns for year so that I can compare with any year data with another year.

any advice is appriciated. Can this be achievable in PBI report with one dataset?

Hi @RayGn2000,

You can create two dimension tables to define current year and compared year.

Here is the output:

Here is the demo, please try it: Compare fields side by side from same dataset with grouping and filter Slicer

@RayGn2000 there are so many posts on how to compare with the previous year, the key here is to add date dimension in your model and have a relationship with the transaction table and then add the measure to get the previous year's value. There are tons of posts on this and here is my blog post on how to add date dimension to the model.
