Combining several PBIX to a single PBIX

Hi,

I have multiple PBIX dashboards created, each connecting to the same database but different (or in some cases same tables). Work was done on each PBIX table set and then graphics applied. We need to now make a single PBIX file to export to PDF, so combine the PBIX files into one. This would include the graphics and tables etc. Is this even possible?

Similat to excel when you have 2 books open and you copy a sheet from one book to the other book.

The alternative would be to recreate, recall all the data and rework it. However this is not a long term solution as you create new PBIX files and want to copy elements from it to this general reports file.

Thanks

@duggy you can copy visuals from one pbix to another, not sure if you can merge files.

Hi,

Visuals yes, but what about the underlying data? The visuals all point to data that was set up and edited etc. If I just copy the visual then the data is not there. Is there a way to port the data cross?

@duggy you can use power query advanced editor to bring the queries across. Again it is going to be manual process.

Here is a blog on how o copy measures. All in all it is not a straight forward process.
