Combine dimensions as single value in visuals

Hello!

Very much a beginner here. I would like to combine two or more dimensions (area, product, account, customer, etc.) and show a value (in this case, the variance between budget and actuals) as a single, uniform element in a chart. This is straight forward using the Table visual, as seen in the first figure. Area and Product are combined, showing the variance per combination.

However, changing the visual to a stacked column chart gives me what is seen in the next figure, which is not what I need.

I could create multiple visuals, one for each dimension, and filter across them - but again, I need them combined. 

Any ideas?

You have 2 options, you can put these 2 columns (area and product) in the X axis and not in the legend and then to drill down

or you can concatente these 2 lines as a calculated column and put it in the X axis

AreaProduct = CONCATENATE(Table[Area],Table[Product])
