Column to return a statement if another column dates are between range

Hello all,

I am new to powerBi so bear with me 😉

My data is based on school data and I have a 'DOA' (date of arrival column) and a 'DOL' (Date of leaving column).

I want to add a new column which return a "Yes - On Roll" or "No - Not On Roll". The statement I want to create would go along the lines of: If DOA <31/8/20 and DOL is blank or > 16/7/20 then return "Yes - On Roll".

How is this possible please? - and I hope that made sense!!!

Many thanks in advance.

Helen

@hellyLoft

please try

column = If( (DOA<date(2020,8,31) && ISBLANK(DOL)) || DOA>date(2020,7,16), "Yes - On Roll","No-Not On Roll")
