Column not summarized

Hi,

I would like to ask why the column does not summarize even tho its selected as 'Sum' already. the format is also number, when dragged into the values space, it only shows the very first day of each month's value.

Even i create a measure like e.g.

SumCT = sum(table, column)

it does not work too. Please help.

Thanks and Regards,

VanCe

Hey @Anonymous ,

The date which you are using in the matrix/table(calender dimension table);It contains first day of each month.

This is your date dimension table.This is your date dimension table.

It gives all date when you select the date from anacle table instead of calender dimension table.

desired result,when you select date from the anacle table.desired result,when you select date from the anacle table.

Hi Ajinkya,

Thanks for replying, for the date field in anacle column, i do not have a hierachy, i wanted to be able to sort it in years and months, do i have to create new columns? But that defeats the purpose of having the calendar table isnt it?

I do not want the calendar table dates to be just first day of each month, i input it as 1 Jan in excel data table because i cant remove the 1st to represent the whole month, how do i make it have all range?

Thanks and Regards,

VanCe

hey @Anonymous ,

Please correct the formula:

SumCT=sum(Tablename[Column name])

Column name should be covered with square brackets.

You can use something like this also:

SumCT=Calculate(Sum(Tablename[column Name])

I'm attaching below the solved screenshots for your problem.

MeasureMeasure

Table visual where date and Sumct measure is usedTable visual where date and Sumct measure is used

If your problem is solved then please accept this as solution.
