Column name error

I have created a data table which creates four new tables and want to change the description of a column in the original data table. When I change the name from Column keep getting error. The name change is five spaces because large description of the species. The four new tables have them create the calculatetable. Thanks in advance

I can't reproduce your issue. When I change the column name in original table, it is mapping to calculated tables and changes properly. I suggest you update your Power BI Desktop into latest version.

 

What's the text you input to rename? How many characters did you input?

 

Currently there's no document talking about the limitation about the column name. I still recommend you follow the limitation for Power Query.

This is the error message.

Saving changes to the server failed. Error returned: "The relationship '6615dbd4-fb47-4174-87f3-29d712b09fae' refers to the deleted column 'Item description' table 'Sales'.
".

As the error message said, you have built relationship which has deleted columns involved. Please go to "Manage Relationships", delete the corresponding relationship to see if it works.
