Column in matrix visual

I have a matrix visual that shows aged debt, like this:

Client name0-3031-6061-90
ABC Ltd£100£0£200
DEF Inc£0£10£20

I'd like to include another column (ClientCode) which is an attribute of the Client record. So it would look like this:

Client nameClient code0-3031-6061-90
ABC Ltd0001£100£0£200
DEF Inc0002£0£10£20

I've tried adding the ClientCode field in various places within the Fields section of the visualization but I can't seem to make it appear as I want. The rest of the matrix, including the totalling of the fields works fine.

This sounds simple. What am I missing?

Hey @mfeingold

Have you tried dragging the Client code field into the values well of the Matrix? Works for me

Hope this helps,

Re: Column in matrix visual

Hello Parker

Thanks for your reply.

Adding ClientCode to the Values well gives:

Client name0-30 31-60 61-90
 First ClientCodeAmountFirst ClientCodeAmountFirst ClientCodeAmount
ABC Ltd0001£1000001£00001£200
DEF Inc0002£00002£100002£20

Note how the client code appears multiple times.

I don't want to aggregate the ClientCode field - I just want to show it in a separatae column alongside the ClientName .

Re: Column in matrix visual

@mfeingold

Are your "0-30", "31-60", "61-90" fields in the Values well also? If not, try to put them there. You'll have Client name in the Rows and your other 4 fields in the Values.

Let me know if that works,

Parker

Re: Column in matrix visual

"0-30", "31-60", "61-90" aren't fields - they're data.

This is a matrix (not a grid/table) so data values appear in both the row and column headers.

Hi @mfeingold,

Can you share a sample of your original data? It seems good.

Re: Column in matrix visual

Thanks Dale

The grids in my initial posts are just made up data to illustrate the point.

Adding ClassID to the Rows well doesn't quite work - my grid is configured to use stepped layout which works well with the drill down but means that not all the columns in the Rows well are shown at all times.

I want the extra column (ClassID in your example, ClientCode in my example) to be visible in all cases, irrespective of the drill down.

Is this possible in the matrix?

Thanks

Mike

Re: Column in matrix visual

Hi Mike,

I'm afraid that isn't how Matrix visual works. I would suggest you create an idea here.
