Classroom Schedule by room

Hi everyone,

I'm currently exploring power BI desktop and right now, I have a problem with my project. I'd like to show classes plotted in each room and time and days of the week. (Room may serve as a filter)

It's like a matrix with days (Monday-Saturday) as column header and time (from 7:30am to 9:00pm) as row header. Then classess will be plotted.
In excel, I have a workseet with the ff data:
ClassID, Start Time, End Time, Day, Room.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi RParcon,

Having this data structure in Excel: ClassID, Start Time, End Time, Day, Room,

Ex1.png

you need to create an additional Time column:

Time = Classroom[Start Time]&"-"&Classroom[End Time]

and then create a matrix and set the fields.

Hi,

The thing is, start time and end time vary per course. I can't figure how to make the y-axis consistent from 7:30AM to 9:00PM and plot classes within this time frame.
Thanks again.

Thank you @lkalawski

See attached.

The reason I want it that way because I want to know which room has vacant time. (Kindly disregard the column Room). It is not supposed to be included.

OK, I understand. In that case, it will definitely help you achieve this:

Can you send example of the data which you have?
