Chicklet Slicer works in desktop and online, not in local Windows App.

Using Chicklet Sliver I'm facing a strange problem. It works fine in PBI Desktop, also online (both Worksheet and App), but as soon as the App is opened in the Windows App the visual does not work correctly.

  1. I filled Category with Smileys (5 text values in Dutch, meaning: Very Bad, Bad, Average, Good, Excellent).
  2. I filled Values with Waardering (= Score) containing: 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5
  3. I filled Images with Images, containing URL's to 5 images.

That is basically it. Header, Title, Background, Lock Aspect, Border are all Off. Chicklet colors for background, text, selected, unselected and hover are all set the same since I do not want to have text and frame (this is a workaround since I cannot switch off frame and text).

But the biggest problem right now is that all shows up fine online and in desktop, but as soon as I use the Windows Store App (Windows 10) it's not working anymore. Message "One or more fields are not correct". When I click on "Details" nothing happens.

Anyone faced this problem before and knows how to solve it ? And / or anybody here who was able to use Chicklet Slicer with images in the PBI App for Windows ?

Thanks in advance.

Dear Yuliana Gu,

No, I did not mean the mobile app. I meant the App downloaded from the App Store in Windows 10 (on my laptop).

Anyway, there is some "progress" to report. I found out - since I had to pause my work yesterday - that after "a while" the visual also works in this app. So for now my problem is solved and the visual is working everywhere (desktop, online ánd Windows App).

Strange behaviour (let's give it that classification) is that this visual (I do not know about other visuals) apparently needs some time after creating the report to start functioning in the local Windows App. At least that is my experience.

Thanks for your reply. I will set this topic to solved and I hope my experience might help somebody else in the future.

Hi @WalTig,

According to your description, the custom visual Chicklet Slicer doesn't work in Mobile App on windows phone, right?

Does this prolem only occurs to this custom visual? Any other built-in visual shows correctly, right? Is there any more detailed error message? Does this problem persist on another windows phone device?

Personally, since the report runs fine in both desktop and service, this problem is more related to Mobile App, you could post your questions on Mobile App forum to get more professional advice.

Regards,
Yuliana Gu
