Check generated SQL query

Hi all,

since when i import data in my power bi report i am able to specify a sql query in the advanced options, i would like to know if is it possible to do the opposite thing: to import a dataset from my database without specifying any query and after that extract the sql query that power bi is using.

I am asking this because my problem is: how can i be sure that the data in the visualizations are correct if i can't look at the query that is generated? How can i do that?

Thanks in advance,

Chiara

Hi @chiaracaspani,

There is a feature called View Native Query in desktop for us to check backend T-SQL query. See: Power BI – Checking Query Folding With View Native Query.

Does anybody know how to see entire SQL Statment generated by Power BI (including WHERE, JOIN, GROUP BY ...).

Some answers of this post explain how to see the standard SQL Statment (select field1, field2 ... from table) but not includes relationships between tables, grouping, ...

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hi,

Is there a way we could see the query for a visual/report created (with the joins and filters)?

Thanks,
