Chart showing Month + Year in sequence

hi there,

just need some insight on my line and stacked column chart

trying to get the graph to show Month + Year in proper sequence

Sept 2017, Oct 2017, Nov 2017, Dec 2017, Jan 2018 and so forth

I have Year and Month seperated in my data already

For the chart - when I drag Year and Month into the Shared Axis column under Visualization - only one will show not both together.

Looking for help to see if I can some how get both to show in sequence.

Thank you,

@Anonymous you need to add new column in your table for sorting months correctly

add new column called Month Sort

Month Sort = FORMAT( Table[Date], "YYYY-MM" )

select your existing month column, go to modelling tab, select sort by column drop down, and choose month sort

Hi @Anonymous ,

Just concatenate those (month and year) two columns using CONCATENATE and FORMAT option and use that concatented column in shared axis. I think it should work in your case. Let me know if it works or not.

Spoiler
monthyr = CONCATENATE(FORMAT(Sheet3[Month],0),FORMAT(Sheet3[Year],0))

Thanks,
